Conclusion

As you can see, we have covered a wide range of perspectives and issues. We have strived to bring forth favorable outcomes through positive actions. Through education and civic engagement our goal is clear; to create a better environment for our future generations and ourselves. Are these actions going to touch every family? Probably not, nor do we expect them to. However, through our group work we have tried to show how important parent involvement is to a developing child and as a result our social environment.

As we look at the survey and all it entails we can see a definite correlation between well-developed children and parent involvement. A more detailed and dispersed survey would have been beneficial, but we feel that the results we did get - especially the teacher surveys - are invaluable to our study.

The perspectives of parents, teachers and community members – while vital – are alone not enough to make anyone stand up and take notice. It is encouraging to note that our government seems (for the most part) to agree with our findings.

If, as they say, “children are our future” then it is up to us to make sure our future is as good as it can get for our generation and those to come.
